** This is my latest newsletter to our Paiting, Photography and Mixed Media meetup group in Los Angeles.

Hello Everyone,

I’m very proud to announce that almost all of our walls are full with trees and water themed pictures and paintings. It’s really quite a view. We still have about 4 more artists that will be hanging in the next two weeks, but pretty much a lot of the artwork for the exhibition is on our website. When I started the meetup I wanted to find friends in the arts that I could collaborate with, and this experience have given me many great people to work with.

August’s First Friday at the Neon Venus Art Theatre in Las Vegas

BANDS–ART–RAFFLE!

Neon Venus Art Theatre

1404 S. 3rd St, Las Vegas, NV 89104

This First Friday we will be doing a raffle at the Neon Venus Art Theatre . You will have a chance to win a $40 meal at the Thai Original Barbeque located on Third St. and Utah, right down the block from our theatre (Las Vegas, NV 89104). The owners of the theatre love the food at this restaurant.

We will also raffle a month of free acting classes at the theatre for two people, as well as two one hour singing lessons. This will be an optional raffle of one dollar at the door. You may buy as many tickets as you want.

The show is free, though a donation at the door will be greatly appreciated. Since we don’t sell alcohol at our theatre, this helps us keep our doors open and do First Friday shows every month.

Keeping inspired to finish my script (the 2nd Draft)

I was able to work on the rewriting of my script today.

I’m grateful I found time to write.

Who’s hosting? Lissette Hey guys, new meetup! Our last one with Jagan was really great and we spoke about raising funds for a feature film from the point of view of our members. Several of us spoke about their experiences and Billy Joseph talked about how he raised money for his indie film. Thank you all for attending and participating. Well, our next meetup is in July and I’m very excited about our speaker Max Adams. She’s fabulous and knowledgeable and you’re going to love her energy. I hope you show her your appreciation with lots of RSVPs. This is a free meetup. She will give us a half hour talk on how to pitch your screenplay and then for the next half hour she will be answering questions. This is great for those of you who are getting ready to pitch your script, and for those who have done this before but who would like to keep improving their skills. After the meetup we can have our usual social gathering and catch up with each other’s projects.

Peter sold his electric guitar

Today I saw Peter’s guitar be sold in front of my very eyes.

I was so sad!

That guitar has traveled with us to Europe, Africa and part of Asia. It has been featured in our music videos and has been played on all our records.

It’s hard to get over it really.

I do have to say that the guy who bought the guitar knows about it’s history and seems to love his new guitar.

And that’s the only good thing about it being sold I think. Seeing someone appreciate it does make me feel better about it.

Bookers

We have been interviewing bookers for our Melrose location, and it’s great to meet young music lovers who are great at having a party at our theatre on weekends.

Soon, all of our nights will be booked which I look forward to. Then every Friday and Saturday on Melrose we will have mini concerts.

Tonight performers start their show at around 9pm….

I have been receiving submissions for our gallery, for both the Vision With A Mission Show and for exhibiting on our walls during the year.

I’ll be uploading photos and paintings this month for our exhibition that starts July 15th.

Getting Ready for a New Video

I’d like to shoot 3 videos. One for Rain, one for Believe, and one for the Craving.

Maybe if I could do Beautiful Words and two Spanish songs….that would be great too….

But that is 6 videos.

You never know.

We’ll see what we can do in 2010.

And especially during the summer of 2010. It would be great to shoot more underwater videos, and summer has the best weather for it.

Just got to keep in shape and get ready for shooting outdoors!

Rewriting

I have been working on the screenplay for a change. And I like it, which is a good thing.

The script is actually finished. But finishing a script is only the beginning of rewriting, and making sure that the script moves at a great pace, has mystery and originality.

The beginning pages had too much exposition, and I have been working on taking the extra info out of it, and making it more snappy.

Tonight I’ll clean the first 10 pages, and hopefully I’ll be able to move to the next 20.

Maybe the first draft that is ready for a table read will be done by the end of summer.

And that would be fantastic!

My Female Artists Friendship and Mastermind Group

I started a goup in Meetup.com to get together with female artists as friends and form a Mastermind Group.

So far, the meetings have been great for me. These women are amazing and are strenghtening me in many ways.

I got the concept from Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”, but I have tailored it for our needs.

I’m very lucky to share afternoons with these talented and supportive women.

Today we went to the beach and sat on the grass sharing stories and ideas for growth.
