I was able to work on the rewriting of my script today.

I’m grateful I found time to write.

Who’s hosting? Lissette Hey guys, new meetup! Our last one with Jagan was really great and we spoke about raising funds for a feature film from the point of view of our members. Several of us spoke about their experiences and Billy Joseph talked about how he raised money for his indie film. Thank you all for attending and participating. Well, our next meetup is in July and I’m very excited about our speaker Max Adams. She’s fabulous and knowledgeable and you’re going to love her energy. I hope you show her your appreciation with lots of RSVPs. This is a free meetup. She will give us a half hour talk on how to pitch your screenplay and then for the next half hour she will be answering questions. This is great for those of you who are getting ready to pitch your script, and for those who have done this before but who would like to keep improving their skills. After the meetup we can have our usual social gathering and catch up with each other’s projects.

I have been working on the screenplay for a change.  And I like it, which is a good thing.

The script is actually finished.  But finishing a script is only the beginning of rewriting, and making sure that the script moves at a great pace, has mystery and originality.

The beginning pages had too much exposition, and I have been working on taking the extra info out of it, and making it more snappy.

Tonight I’ll clean the first 10 pages, and hopefully I’ll be able to move to the next 20.

Maybe the first draft that is ready for a table read will be done by the end of summer.

And that would be fantastic!
